The Latvian airline Air Baltic will build three new bases in the 2025 summer flight schedule. The carrier will station aircraft in Vienna, Munich and Brussels. The company is already looking for flight personnel.
From 1 September 2024, Air Baltic will advertise a Captain position for the Airbus A220-300. In addition, the airline will also be looking for Senior First Officers who will be invited to the Airbus A220-300 aircraft with the prospect of fast-track promotion. As an incentive for new employees, Air Baltic offers a signing bonus of EUR 15,000 gross for Captains and EUR 10,000 gross for Senior First Officers if they join the company by 31 May 2025.
Crews will also be stationed in Tallinn and Vilnius from November 1, 2024. The carrier is already present at airports, but has so far only used its home base in Riga. In the 2025 summer flight schedule, both Airbus A220-300s and flying staff will be present in Brussels, Munich and Vienna. However, the company has not yet provided any information on the number of aircraft, the alternative routes or the charter and/or wet lease clients. « These expansions are designed to increase the airline’s reach and flexibility while improving service in key European markets, » Air Baltic said.
From January 2025, pilots and cabin crew will benefit from higher remuneration and better organised schedules, which will include, among other things, more days off. Pauls Cālītis, Chief Operations Officer of air Baltic, emphasised the importance of these measures: « We are pleased to offer our employees good remuneration and a good work-life balance. These improvements are an essential part of our commitment to the well-being of our crew and continuous development as an employer. »
